Mini Drone + Charger

Program Overview

Where curious kids become drone pilots & engineers.

Up, up and away! Kids enjoy fun remote-control drones charged from solar power. Each camper builds a solar-powered charging station for their drone — when the battery runs out, they can simply recharge anywhere outdoors with the sun.

When the builds are done, students challenge other students in friendly flight contests. At the end of camp, every camper takes home a mini drone and their solar charging station — a complete sun-to-sky setup.

What's Inside Camp

Five things your camper will build, charge, and fly.

Build a Drone

Beginner-friendly drone kits guide kids from "what is this?" to "I'm flying it!" in just a few sessions.

Solar Charging Station

Every camper assembles a portable solar charging station — works anywhere the sun shines, no outlet required.

Basics of Flight

Learn the physics of lift, propulsion, and battery life — taught through doing, not slides.

STEM in Action

Renewable energy meets aerospace. Real engineering concepts taught with real, flying results.

Friendly Flight Contests

After builds, campers compete in friendly drone challenges — agility, endurance, distance. Bring your A-game.

Take It Home

Leave with a working mini drone and your own solar charging station. Skies wide open.

From Past Camps

Inside the workshop.

Real campers, real builds. The energy in these rooms is contagious — even the parents stay to watch.

Parent Reviews

From the families who came back.

My daughter came home talking about photovoltaic cells. She's seven. Go Solar! Kidz made science feel like an adventure she wanted to keep going.

Four mornings, four builds, zero meltdowns. The instructors are calm, patient, and clearly love what they do. We've already signed up for next summer.

He's still racing his solar car around the kitchen floor a month later. Worth every dollar and then some — and the take-home project hooked him on engineering.

Got Questions?

Frequently asked.

Do kids really fly drones?
Yes — students learn the basics of drone technology and see how solar panels can extend flight time. We use safe, beginner-friendly drones with simple controls.
Is prior drone experience required?
Not at all. We provide safe, beginner-friendly drones and step-by-step guidance. Every camper starts at zero and leaves flying.
What skills are taught?
Basics of flight, renewable energy integration, problem-solving, and teamwork — all blended into the build-and-fly cycle.
Is the camp safe?
Absolutely. All flying happens with adult supervision, in safe spaces, with drones sized appropriately for young pilots.
What do they take home?
A mini drone and a working solar charging station — proof of what they built, ready to fly in your backyard.
