Mini Solar Project

Program Overview

Where curious kids become solar engineers.

Stimulate your child's creativity by designing and building epic, solar-powered cars, robots, and machines from easy-to-assemble parts. Young engineers will build solar-powered cranes, lift bridges, and many other designs — exploring the world of solar energy while learning how to problem-solve and stretch their imagination.

No prior experience needed. Step-by-step instructions and friendly instructors guide every camper through working, hands-on builds powered by the sun.

What's Inside Camp

Five things your camper will build, learn, and love.

Real Solar Power

Every machine is powered by a real solar panel — kids see physics in action when the sun hits the panel and the wheels start spinning.

Build Robots & Machines

Cars, robots, cranes, lift bridges — campers cycle through multiple builds across the four sessions. Every day, something new.

STEM-Focused Curriculum

Designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and math through stories, challenges, and problem-solving — not lectures.

Eco-Friendly Learning

Campers learn why renewable energy matters and how solar fits into a cleaner future — values they'll carry home.

Mini Solar Project to Keep

Every camper leaves the last day with a take-home mini solar project — proof of what they built, ready to show off at home.

Teamwork Encouraged

Builds are individual; problem-solving is shared. Kids team up to design, test, and race — and make new friends along the way.

From Past Camps

Inside the workshop.

Real campers, real builds. The energy in these rooms is contagious — even the parents stay to watch.

Parent Reviews

From the families who came back.

My daughter came home talking about photovoltaic cells. She's seven. Go Solar! Kidz made science feel like an adventure she wanted to keep going.

Four mornings, four builds, zero meltdowns. The instructors are calm, patient, and clearly love what they do. We've already signed up for next summer.

He's still racing his solar car around the kitchen floor a month later. Worth every dollar and then some — and the take-home project hooked him on engineering.

Got Questions?

Frequently asked.

What's included in this program?
Kids build different solar-powered machines — cars, robots, and moving models — while exploring mechanics and energy across four 3-hour sessions. All build materials, instruction, and the take-home mini solar project are included.
Is it beginner-friendly?
Absolutely. Step-by-step instructions are provided, and kids of all levels — from total beginners to budding tinkerers — can participate and succeed.
What makes it different from the Solar Cars-only program?
This expanded version includes multiple projects — not just cars. Kids get a variety of solar-powered creations to try across the four sessions, including robots, cranes, and lift bridges.
How do you ensure safety during the activities?
Safety is our top priority. All activities are supervised by experienced instructors, and we use child-friendly, age-appropriate materials designed for safe construction.
Can students work in teams?
Yes — teamwork is encouraged for designing and testing machines. Most builds are individual, but the problem-solving and racing happen together.
