Ever wondered how a car the size of your hand can race across the gym floor on nothing but sunlight? At GoSolar! Kidz, that question is the spark behind one of our most popular builds.

It starts with a solar cell

Each speedster carries a small photovoltaic cell — a thin wafer that turns light into electricity. When sunlight hits the cell, it knocks tiny electrons loose, and that flow becomes the current that spins the motor.

Our campers wire the cell straight to a little motor, clip on the wheels, and within minutes they're testing, tweaking, and racing.

“I didn't know the sun could be a battery!” — a very common camp quote

Want your child to build one? Our Solar Speedsters and Solar Cars camps run all summer.
